Electrical Preconstruction Manager

The Preconstruction Manager will lead a cross‑functional team to support a project from its initial pursuit through the sales process, design and engineering coordination, planning stages, and into construction, including commissioning and turnover. The Preconstruction Manager will collaborate closely with the operations side project manager, serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external clients during preconstruction and planning phases, and transition project control to the project manager during construction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management. Experience: At least 10 years of electrical contracting experience or MEP coordination. Travel: 15-25%. Work schedule: Typical hours 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday; work may be required at any time to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate design activities with consultants, subcontractor partners and clients. Work with the Group Manager of Preconstruction to develop best‑in‑class services for internal and external clients. Keep project leadership informed of all open or unresolved design issues and track design and cost changes during development. Participate in meetings and presentations to present the benefits of Preconstruction Services. Utilize project status reports, task item analyses, roles‑and‑responsibilities trackers, and cost reports to monitor progress and budgets. Oversee the development of designs, cost estimates, and value‑engineering solutions. Serve as the single point of contact for all Preconstruction activities. Provide guidance to project managers during the design phase to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. Perform other related duties as required.
