Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients to assess the severity and impact of mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and preferences.
- Utilize evidence-based therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to guide therapeutic interventions.
- Empower clients and their families by providing education on mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
- Monitor client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care and streamline client treatment experiences.
- Maintain diligent and confidential case documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and keep abreast of advancements in mental health treatment.
- Advocate for clients' mental health needs, including reducing stigma and ensuring access to resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The LMFT will focus on a diverse range of clients, addressing mood disorders that affect various groups such as individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. This role offers the chance to reach those who may suffer from significant barriers to accessing mental health care, making it vital for the community.
Qualifications
- A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- A master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in building therapeutic alliances through exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental stance are critical in supporting clients' unique experiences and struggles.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage caseloads effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with diverse populations, including but not limited to clients with mood disorders, trauma histories, and marginalized communities.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices.
- Previous involvement in case advocacy or integrated treatment settings.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of USD 70,000 to 90,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our benefits package is robust and includes:
