Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established California-based law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its legal team on a full-time basis. This position offers a flexible remote or hybrid work arrangement and is open to candidates outside California, provided they are licensed to practice in the state. Duties:

1. Manage workers’ compensation defense cases from inception through resolution
2. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
3. Conduct legal research, depositions, and discovery
4. Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials
5. Utilize digital case management tools in a paperless environment
6. Maintain proactive communication with clients and team members
7. Foster professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• 1 year of workers’ compensation defense experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with the Defense Base Act or Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (a plus)
• Strong organizational and case management skills
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Proficient in working within a digital legal environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Active Member in Good Standing with the State Bar of California
