Medical Records Technician

Job DutiesHelpVerify patient's eligibility for care. Complete registration in MHSG system and verify and update insurance.Manage daily face-to-face interactions with customers and manage phone calls and fax correspondence.Track and compile reports. Assist with HIPAA inquiries.Extract medical information from the medical record, process medical records requests.Work closely with the office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) regarding legal implications.Analyze medical information. Prepare medical records for retirement and process accordingly to guidance.Responsible for transferring all medical records to another MTF, and requesting records from other facilities.Prepare variety of materials by utilizing various computer programs.Perform weekly random audits and distribute results.Ensure patient travel requests are processed timely and accurately.
