Credit Risk Management Analyst

Job Summary Administers the company's enterprise risk management credit policy under supervision, including but not limited to supporting all AEP business units for moderately complex transactions and is responsible for determining the financial ability of AEP'' counterparties to deliver contracted products and services and meet payment obligations, negotiation of credit provisions for master agreements, and guaranty negotiation, execution, and maintenance to ensure best possible guaranty coverage. What You'll Do: Mitigate credit risks to preserve revenues and avoid losses while facilitating business opportunities under supervision and for moderately complex transactions. Credit Analysis: Perform initial and/or ongoing quantitative and qualitative analysis of customers, suppliers, or counterparties to establish monetary limits, tenor limits, and internal ratings in relation to the purchase or sale of services and commodities. Portfolio Management: Monitor monetary limits, tenor limits, and ratings for counterparties. Monitor industry news to assess any relevant impact on counterparties and identify potential portfolio actions. Perform margining and related tasks in a proficient manner. Maintain data integrity within the credit risk system, including counterparty, contracts, collateral, ratings, and other pertinent information. Judiciously manage and provide administration of collateral held or posted for counterparties, RTOs, or exchanges, including guarantees, cash, letters of credit, and surety bonds. Reporting: Prepare credit risk reports for risk committees, executive meetings, and financial reporting or compliance purposes. Contracts: Negotiate credit provisions for master agreements and supporting collateral documents, such as the collateral annex, guarantees, letters of Credit, netting agreements. Other: Recommend and Implement strategies to improve processes and systems to assess, measure, and monitor credit risk. What We’re Looking For: Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting; (Or) Associates degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting with two (2) years of experience. Experience: Minimum three (3) years total work experience in addition to any experience noted above. Additional Expectations : High level proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and database management tools/software. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and/or experience in commercial and commodity transactions are desirable. Multi-tasking skills. Supports O&M and/or Capital budgeting process, reprojections, variance/other standard/ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and/or the improvement requisition process for a business unit(s), corporate group(s), operating company(ies) and/or for AEP Consolidated. Includes providing support of the related planning, budgeting and reporting applications and the billing/allocation processes. Note: A budget analyst will provide more limited support, either in activities performed or in groups supported. Prepare financial forecasts, variance analyses, regulatory filings, and ad hoc analysis of strategic opportunities. Analyze and make recommendations on regulatory and general business strategy. The Accounting Manager - Nuclear Development, will support all facets of the accounting functions relevant to the strategic priorities of AEP’s Nuclear Development organization. This position is expected to play a critical role in the development, deployment, and ongoing application of relevant accounting policies and procedures to support the growth initiatives of AEP’s Nuclear Development organization in a manner that is compliant and consistent with AEP’s overall accounting policies. To that end, this position will regularly collaborate with AEP’s CAO organization and will require working cross-functionally with multiple business unit management teams as well as AEP’s external auditor. This position will also support internal management and major project reporting functionality to inform strategic decision-making of the AEP Nuclear Development leadership team.
