Physician - Outpatient Primary Care - WellMed Medical Group - El Paso, TX

Position Overview WellMed Medical Group, an Optum Care network partner, seeks an internal medicine or family medicine physician to join our Paisano clinic location in El Paso, TX. Position Highlights See 14–16 patients per day. Physicians are measured and rewarded on quality of care, with a $50,000 bonus paid semi‑annually. Start with 184 hours PTO in the first year, 5 days for CME, 8 national holidays plus one floating holiday. Strong clinical support team: NPs, PAs, RNs, LVNs, MAs, scribes, nurse educators, case managers, clinic administrators, referral managers, coders, centralized scheduling, nurse advice line, and robust IT. Collaborate with primary care physicians (IM & FM), hospitalists, and a network of employed/contracted sub‑specialists. What makes an Optum Career different? Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or M.B.B.S. Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine, or completing an accredited residency program. Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas, or ability to obtain one prior to employment. Valid DEA license, or ability to obtain prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency. Understanding and support of a managed care environment. Salary Range The specialty compensation generally ranges from $237,500 to $384,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance.
