Security Systems Technician

Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Security Field Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain advanced CCTV and Access Control systems across a variety of client environments. This position requires strong technical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and a customer-first mindset. You'll work independently in the field while also serving as a resource and mentor to junior technicians, helping maintain the highest standards of service and operational excellence. What You'll Do: Diagnose & Repair Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and network-related issues. Perform advanced diagnostics to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Respond to system outages and equipment failures with urgency and precision. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on security systems and equipment. Ensure systems operate at peak performance and reliability. Customer Service Communicate effectively with clients regarding service updates, findings, and recommendations. Deliver a high-quality customer experience while maintaining professionalism in the field. Technical Leadership Mentor and support junior technicians. Share technical knowledge and best practices to improve team performance. Documentation & Inventory Management Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inventory logs. Ensure required parts and supplies are available for service activities. Emergency Response Respond promptly to urgent service requests and critical system issues. Minimize downtime and maintain security system functionality for clients. What Makes You a Great Fit Technical Experience CCTV Systems IP camera platforms including Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, Hikvision, and Avigilon. Video Management Systems (VMS) such as: Genetec Security Center Milestone Camera configuration, lens adjustments, firmware updates, and troubleshooting. Access Control Systems Experience with panel-based systems, including Mercury boards and Lenel platforms. Knowledge of: Card readers Electric strikes Magnetic locks Experience with LenelS2 OnGuard, C•CURE 9000, or similar platforms. IP addressing and subnetting. VLANs and PoE environments. Network switches and troubleshooting. Ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams. Low-Voltage Systems Reading wiring diagrams and schematics. Multimeter usage and electrical testing. Understanding relay logic and power requirements. Qualifications 3–7 years of experience working with low-voltage or electronic security systems. Experience servicing and troubleshooting systems (not solely installation). Proven ability to work independently in the field. Experience supporting live customer environments such as hospitals, schools, government facilities, or commercial buildings. Preferred Certifications LenelS2 Axis DMP Other relevant manufacturer certifications Field Requirements Valid driver's license. Ability to travel daily to customer sites. Comfortable: Climbing ladders and operating lifts Working above ceilings and within IDF/MDF environments Lifting up to 50 pounds Why Join Vision Technologies?
