Dishwasher (On-Call)

Job Title: Dishwasher Work Location: Fairfield, PA Labor Category: Full-Time / Non-Exempt – SCA Clearance Level: Secret Pay Rate: $17.75 per hour Health & Welfare: $6.08 per hour About the Role The Dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service areas within a Dining Facility (DFAC). This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring a continuous supply of clean and sanitized items in accordance with DFAC procedures, food safety standards, and contractual requirements. What You'll Be Doing Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans using manual or mechanical methods. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized dishwashing and kitchen work area. Ensure proper water temperatures and chemical use for sanitation standards. Clean kitchen equipment, floors, and surrounding work areas throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures. Support DFAC operations during exercises or mission‑critical events, which may require remaining on‑site. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For Experience working in a military dining facility (DFAC) or comparable institutional food service environment is preferred. Must satisfactorily complete Food Service Medical Clearance (Tri Service Food Code – TB Med 530). Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance. Must be able to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start. Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to access a U.S. Government worksite. Must be able to work around food products, including exposure to food allergens may occur during storage, handling, or transport. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position. Physical Demands & Work Environment Fast‑paced commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals; requires adherence to sanitation standards. Regular exposure to detergents, degreasers, and sanitizing agents used in commercial dishwashing operations; appropriate PPE is provided and required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, and reaching for long periods of time. Must be able to work on‑call, alternate, and extended shifts as needed to support mission requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays. To meet contractual obligations, employees may be required to remain on‑site for extended periods during scheduled exercises or real‑world events. Work is primarily performed indoors within a commercial kitchen environment and may include exposure to varying temperatures and other operational hazards, with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
