This role involves comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through both in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and direct patient education.

Completion of an accredited program in sleep technology leading to a certificate or associate degree, or equivalent experience with documented proficiency. Certification by a nationally recognized board such as RST, RPSGT, or SDS is required.

Prior experience as a polysomnographer is preferred. Candidates must hold current American Heart Association BLS certification and participate in ongoing sleep-related continuing education averaging at least 10 hours per year over three years.

The role demands strong technical skills, critical thinking, and adherence to departmental protocols to ensure accurate data collection and patient safety. Responsibilities include applying electrodes and sensors, monitoring study quality, performing equipment calibrations, and generating detailed reports. The position requires excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a supportive and educational environment.

Physical demands include frequent standing, handling equipment, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to infectious agents and chemicals, necessitating strict compliance with safety and infection control standards.
