Full-time Burn Center Medical Director for Large Public Health and Hospital System in Silicon Valley Better Health for All Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time BC Plastic or General Surgeon who has completed their burn fellowship training and has qualifications in Surgical Critical Care, to serve as the Burn Center Medical Director, in our Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic/Burn Surgery. About the Division The Burn Center at SCVMC is verified by the ABA for children and adults, treating 300 inpatients a year and over 1,200 outpatients. SCVMC is a 731-bed tertiary care facility, and the only combined ACS Level 1 Trauma Center and Burn Center for the San Francisco Bay Area. Comprehensive, multidisciplinary burn care is paramount for the Burn Center at SCVMC which is home to the #1 ranked rehabilitation program in the Western US. About the Position The Medical Director will provide clinical and programmatic leadership for the burn center, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to quality improvement, education, and program development. The position includes the opportunity to teach Stanford plastic surgery residents and pursue an Affiliate Faculty appointment at Stanford University. We are seeking an experienced Burn Center Medical Director to lead a high-volume, multidisciplinary burn program at an ABA-verified burn center and Level I trauma center. The position will require: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience following burn fellowship training Fellowship training in Burn Surgery & Critical Care Board certified in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery Demonstrated medical leadership and program development experience Strong interest in resident and medical student education.
