The assistant store manager encourages successful, profitable retail and takes that expertise to the next level as a pacesetter of outstanding brand experiences, in store, as the store manager sees fit and directs. The assistant store manager works collaboratively and hands-on with staff and local riders as a host, brand advocate, and customer service ace. This role also works cross-functionally with other members of the Specialized team to support store-based events founded on education, advocacy, and brand/retail innovation. The assistant store manager ensures all staff deliver exceptional rider service; enhance rider satisfaction; and aids in meeting sales and profitability goals as set forth by the Store Manager and Retail Leadership.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCEAct as store’s representative and set an example for our staff by leading retail teammates and direct all daily operations of the shop in the absence of the Store Manager.Assist the Store Manager in day-to-day operations with tasks including scheduling, inventory count, and team development.Coach and support new and existing retail teammates.Assist the Store Manager in aiding in the overall profitability of the retail store, namely covering/exceeding the store’s run cost to maximize the contribution to the topline revenue of Specialized Bicycle Components, nationally.Ensure the conveyance of transformative, inclusive, ride-focused, locally authentic and collaborative experiences for staff and riders alike inside and out, c/o The Specialized Way.Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals and assist the Store Manager with store performance objectives.Aid in establishing and sustaining all clientele (establish long-term relationships with key riders and retailers, based on data about their preferences, behaviors, and purchases).Aid in upholding all organizational/cleanliness standards for the retail location.Aid in ensuring timely delivery of all special orders and home deliveries.Collaborate with service manager to ensure proper rider expectation management and timely delivery of all service and achieving overall service metrics.Collaborate with operations/receiving manager to assist with inventory management, including receival, processing, and merchandising of all new inventory and of existing on-hand inventory.Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.WHAT YOU NEED TO WINPassion for cycling and the Specialized brandFormer retail experience with 1+ years of experience preferredExcellent communication with the ability to effectively interact with riders and team membersMust be able to work as business dictates which includes weekends and holidaysAbility to stand for extensive time periods; while occasionally walking, kneeling, or reachingAble to lift at least 50lbs. or more and use proper lifting skillsTELL ME MORECompetitive health care (Medical PPO or HDHP)*Dental*Vision*Health Savings Account (HSA)Short and Long Term DisabilityCompany sponsored life insuranceOptional Term Life InsuranceOptional Critical Illness insuranceOptional Critical Accident insuranceCompetitive vacation package*401(k) with match8 Weeks paid parental leavePaid company holidaysEmployee discounts on all productDeep partner retail discountsFitness & Events ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramCommuter Benefits *if applicable in state*For eligible employeesHere at Specialized we believe that bikes have the power to change lives.
