SUMMARY Tops Markets is accepting applications for current and future part‑time openings and has a history of promoting from within. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Front End – The front end is the final point of contact with our customers. As a cashier or cart clerk, your most important responsibility is to make a positive, friendly and lasting impression on our customers. Bakery – Slice, price, package, and display baked goods; ensure product is stocked, rotated, and stored properly. Pharmacy – Retrieve medications from shelves, count or pour medications, label containers, properly price prescriptions, enter customer data into the computer, keep accurate records, complete pharmacy related paperwork, maintain security of controlled substances, and ensure ordered supplies are stocked. Deli/Carryout Cafe – Fulfill customer requests for deli and/or prepared foods products (ready‑made meals, packaged salads, pizzas, subs, etc.); slice deli meats/cheeses to order, prepare product for cases, ensure product is properly stored, rotated, and displayed. General Merchandise – Ensure products on shelves are stocked and ready for customer purchase; help create and maintain product displays; keep the backroom organized and products properly stored. Includes first aid items, non‑food items and rotating seasonal products. Grocery – Ensure products on shelves are stocked and ready for customer purchase; help create and maintain product displays; keep the backroom organized and products properly stored. Meat – Ensure meat departments are stocked and products properly stored, rotated, weighed, labeled, and displayed; fulfill customer requests for meat from the case; answer customer questions; if a certified meat cutter or apprentice, receive, process, cut, trim, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price, and label meats. Produce – Ensure produce department is stocked, products properly stored, rotated, watered as needed, processed, wrapped, sliced, weighed, and packaged; fulfill customer orders for fruit or vegetable platters and baskets. Seafood – Ensure seafood department is stocked and product properly stored, rotated, weighed, labeled, displayed; fulfill customer requests; answer customer questions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
