FY27 Graduate Research Assistant - Alaska Center for Energy and Power

Are you a graduate student interested in gaining hands-on experience in energy research? ACEP will be hiring graduate research assistants on an as needed basis throughout the year.

The Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) provides valuable learning and job opportunities for UA students in a variety of fields including energy, engineering, and technology. ACEP works with Alaskan communities and industries as leaders establishing the energy systems of the future.

This recruitment pool is open to graduate students only. Position duties may vary based on project. This assistantship is per semester or full academic year basis.

To thrive in this role, the applicant should possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues. Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accuracy in tasks such as data entry and assigned research. Students are encouraged to strengthen their ability to problem-solve as well as to work both independently and collaboratively. As a part of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, you will need to have the ability to work and communicate with a variety of team members. Adaptability, interest in energy research, and a willingness to learn will help set you up to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should be enrolled as a UA graduate student in a minimum of 6 credits, during the academic year, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF (Fairbanks, AK) or UAA (Anchorage, AK) campuses. This is a part-time, exempt temporary student position and may have the potential for full-time work during the summer (dependent on project and available funding). Student pay is determined based on degree level.
