We are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate networks across on-premises data centers, public cloud environments, and enclave-based domains at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL .

About the Role

\n

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure, high-performance network environments across on-premises infrastructure, public cloud, and restricted/enclave-based domains. This role requires strong hands-on experience with cloud networking, software-defined networking (SDN), and Kubernetes/container networking .

\n

Most of your work will be performed on-site at customer locations in Huntsville, supporting secure and mission-critical network environments.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Design, architect, and configure restricted networks and secure inter-domain routing
\n
• Implement network segmentation, access controls, and security policies across cloud and on-premises environments
\n
• Build, configure, and manage cloud networking infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
\n
• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic for high-throughput applications
\n
• Deploy and maintain software-defined networking platforms and hardware-based network appliances
\n
• Integrate network services with Kubernetes using CNI plugins and container-native networking
\n
• Establish connectivity between remote cloud instances and on-premises data centers, ensuring reliable routing and optimized latency
\n
• Support hybrid-cloud architectures and secure connectivity between remote enclaves
\n
• Automate network provisioning and configuration changes using Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
\n
• Implement network monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain network health and identify security events
\n
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to establish network access protocols, firewall rules, and connectivity requirements
\n
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles
\n

Must-Have Qualifications

\n

\n
• Active Secret clearance
\n
• 5+ years of professional networking experience , with a strong focus on cloud and software-defined environments
\n
• Proven experience designing and supporting restricted/compliant networks and secure inter-domain or enclave communications
\n
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts and technologies, including VPCs, VNets, peering, and transit gateways
\n
• Strong experience working with Linux operating systems
\n
• Practical experience troubleshooting and managing multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic
\n
• Experience with both software-defined and hardware-based networking technologies
\n
• Direct hands-on experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting networking within Kubernetes clusters
\n
• Ability to design and maintain secure routing paths between isolated networks, domains, or enclaves
\n

\n

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

\n

\n
• Experience with Kubernetes CNI technologies such as Cilium, Calico, or Multus
\n
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
\n
• Experience implementing cloud-to-cloud routing across multiple cloud providers
\n
• Background supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure
\n
• Experience developing network access policies, firewall rules, and zero-trust security policies
\n
• Experience supporting enterprise software hosting in production environments
\n
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
\n

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field , or equivalent practical experience
\n
• 5+ years of professional networking experience
\n
