To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.As a Fire Alarm Service Technician at Encore, you will be a key part of keeping our customers' life safety systems operating the way they should when it matters most. You will inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems, making sure they are compliant, reliable, and ready to perform. This is a field-based role with a lot of variety and autonomy.You will move from site to site, solve problems in real-time, and work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams. For a technician who takes pride in doing precise work, communicating clearly, and leaving systems better than they were found, this role offers long-term career growth in a critical industry.You are the one who gets the call when the panel keeps beeping; a device refuses to cooperate, or an inspection turns up something that cannot wait. You move between scheduled service, system testing, troubleshooting, and the occasional emergency call, keeping customers informed, and systems compliant from start to finish. In this role, you will:Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot both basic and complex fire alarm systems.Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with NFPA 72 and company standards.Identify code deficiencies and provide clear, professional recommendations for system improvements.Respond to emergency calls as required, including participation in nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.Document service activities accurately, including findings, work performed, and parts used.Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff regarding status, next steps, and any concerns.Uphold Encore's commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every job site.What You Bring to the Table:High school diploma or GED required, with technical or industry related experience preferredValid electrical license, in accordance with state specific requirementsValid driver's license and willingness to travel within your assigned territoryStrong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations, and fire alarm system theoryHands-on experience working with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, and HoneywellExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through issues methodicallyStrong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teamsAbility to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize your dayA professional, team-oriented mindset and commitment to customer service excellenceWhat Makes You Stand Out:You have three or more years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire alarm systems.You have NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout.You have experience supporting both service and small project work, not just one or the other.You have helped mentor or support apprentices or less experienced technicians in the field.You have worked across multiple manufacturers and are comfortable adapting to different panels and devices.You are known for clean, complete documentation, and for keeping customers informed without being prompted.Beyond the Paycheck:Competitive Pay: Hourly rate based on experience with a performance-based bonus opportunity.Tuition Assistance: Paid tuition for fire protection-related schooling needed to obtain licensing.Purpose-Driven Work Environment: We believe in working smarter, not harder.
