Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Current Montana Speech Pathologist license on file in the Central Office. Desire to continue career improvement. Valid driver’s license and vehicle. Essential Functions Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students. Ensure that all activities conform to district and state guidelines. Conduct screening of kindergarten students and provide referrals to comply with child‑find regulations following a disability referral. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of a student’s communication skills and summarize data for presentation at the Child Study Team meeting. Determine, in cooperation with the Child Study Team and using data from the comprehensive assessment, eligibility and need for placement in special education services. Develop and participate in the IEP process. Provide individual students and/or groups of students with appropriate speech, aural rehabilitation, and/or language therapy to remediate communication disorders (including receptive and expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, and hearing impairment). Ages 3 to 21 years. May provide consultation and information to the regular classroom teacher and other school personnel about speech/language. Assist with district‑wide preschool screening and evaluations. Develop and maintain appropriate records. Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions may be required as assigned.
