Truck Driver

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for operating company approved vehicles for the transportation of raw material and finished goods to and from multiple company and vendor locations in the local area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates company approved vehicles and is responsible for the prompt and compliant delivery of materials to and from company and vendor locations in the area
• Reads bill of lading and adheres to other company instructions relating to delivery of materials
• Safely operates hand lift as needed to load vehicles
• Adheres to all city and state highway regulations pertaining to truck and load limits, safety regulations and set speed limits
• Responsible for loading vehicle and maintaining gas, oil, water and other normal care of equipment as required
• Assist Maintenance Tech in facility and machining maintenance as needed
• Maintains driving record in good standing in accordance with company policy
• Maintains safe working conditions and follows established operator safety procedures

• Must have strong attention to detail
• Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
• Independent self-starter able to perform without direct and explicit instruction
• Should have a positive and professional attitude
• Available to work weekends and overtime

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum one(1) year of commercial driving experience
• Valid drivers license

The employee must frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity.
