Job Summary

· Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels' patients and doctors on nature of drugs, and performs other pharmacy services.

· Manages the Retail Store and Personnel.

General Accountabilities

· Reviews prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability.

· Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.

· Maintains records, such as pharmacy files or patient profiles.

· Plans, implements, or maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements.

· Assesses the identity, strength, or purity of medications.

· Orders and purchases pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, or drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly.

· Advises customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies.

· Compounds and dispenses medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists.

· Manages pharmacy operations, hiring or supervising staff, performing administrative duties, or buying or selling non-pharmaceutical merchandise.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Oversees the training of Pharmacy Technicians and Clerks.

· Delegates tasks to Pharmacy Technicians and Clerks.

· Provides feedback and suggestions to direct support.

· Instruct and follow-up with direct supports on daily tasks to ensure completion.

· Hires and Provides Disciplinary Actions.

· Cooperative and participates when implementing new services. Must be Creative and Resourceful.

· Maintains the operation of Systems and Equipment.

· Maintains the confidentiality of Vendors and Contact lists of support and system providers.

· Responds timely to Management.

Job Qualifications

· Education: B.A., Ph.D. or M.D.

· Experience: 5-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, QS1, Nexsys, and Euclid Machinery
