LPN/LVN Nursing Position
Job Title: LPN/LVN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: LPN/LVN Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: All RNs must have BLS and ACLS completed prior to the end of orientation. PCT/NAs are required to have BLS.
Description: This position is for an acute care unit. The unit has 30 beds and a staffing complement of 40+. Day shift entails a Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs/LPNs, and 2-3 Nursing Assistants. Night shift entails a Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs/LPNs, and 2-3 Nursing Assistants. Patient ratios are 2-4:1 in SD/ICU and 5-6:1 in Med-Surg. 2-3 PCTs are present on the floor as appropriate. Equipment used includes IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometers, wound vacs, Baxter feeding pumps, and lift equipment as appropriate. The EMR system utilized is Cerner. Most recruited candidates should possess the following skills: Staff with 1 year med/surg experience is preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include IV starts, central venous lines, arterial lines, Foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care. Candidates should be able to function in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The unit employs a team-based care model, where all care providers meet daily to discuss patient care, treatments, and discharge needs. Weekend rotation includes 3 Mondays and Fridays per 6 weeks. Holidays are staffed according to a staffing matrix.
