The Lead Barista plays a key role in overseeing a medium-sized team of 6-10 baristas to ensure the highest quality coffee preparation and exceptional customer service. Reporting to the Oberlin Manager, this position combines hands-on coffee making with team leadership, staff training, and operational responsibilities using specialized POS systems and manual inventory methods. The Lead Barista fosters a supportive environment through on-the-job mentoring and regular training sessions, driving consistent quality and efficient store operations without travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality coffee drinks and beverages
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Lead and motivate a team of 6-10 baristas
- Train staff through mentoring and structured training sessions
- Manage inventory using manual tracking methods
- Ensure quality control standards are met consistently
- Operate POS systems for daily transactions
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in coffee preparation
- Proficient in espresso machine operation
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience with inventory management
- Demonstrated team leadership abilities
- Experience in training and mentoring staff
- Effective communication skills
