Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Draeger vent experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System
• Level II Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Will float between two campus locations as needed
• Expected to rotate through all hospital units including NICU and Pediatric units, with frequency dependent on census and staffing needs
• Uses Epic for charting
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Acute care experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Draeger vent experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT
• State license required if applicable
• CPFT, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
• Neonatal oscillating vent and high frequency jet vent experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations including NICU and pediatric critical care
• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Perform ventilator management, airway suctioning, ABG interpretation, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports as needed
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local
• Returning staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
