Personal Lines Underwriter - Insurance Carrier - Base Salary to 95k/year - Great Neck, NY

• Our client, a large and growing insurance carrier, is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter with experience supporting homeowners and/or dwelling fire policies.
• In this role, you will evaluate residential property risks, review new and existing personal lines business, apply underwriting guidelines, and work with agents and brokers to determine eligibility and coverage terms.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate homeowners and dwelling fire risks by reviewing property details, claims and loss history, exposures, and supporting documentation to determine underwriting eligibility and coverage terms.
• Underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with personal lines underwriting guidelines, company standards, and applicable state insurance regulations.
• Review policy information, risk characteristics, and rating information to support risk selection and underwriting decisions.
• Work with insurance agents, brokers, and internal teams to communicate underwriting decisions and resolve policy or underwriting issues.
• Manage an assigned personal lines book of business to support profitability, retention, portfolio balance, and responsible growth.

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of personal lines underwriting experience supporting homeowners and/or dwelling fire policies.
• Experience with personal lines property underwriting, including risk assessment, risk selection, eligibility, coverage terms, claims or loss history, and underwriting guidelines.
• Knowledge of homeowners insurance, dwelling fire insurance, policy guidelines, and applicable state insurance regulations.
• Experience using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 65k - 95k/year range
• Medical (PPO), dental (PPO), vision (PPO), and life insurance covered 100% for employees and 50% for dependents.
• 401k with 4% company match.
• Paid vacation, sick time, and 13 paid holidays.
