This position requires flexibility, as it may involve shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the Department's 24/7/365 operations. - Fully Equipped : Officers receive all necessary equipment including uniform, duty belt, ballistic vest, duty pistol, and ammunition, ensuring readiness for duty at all times.
- Clothing/Equipment Allowance: Receive a $700 per year allowance for clothing and equipment, enabling you to maintain professional attire and gear.
- Officer Rifle Purchase Program : Take advantage of our program allowing individual officers to purchase rifles, enhancing personal safety and preparedness.
- On-Duty Fitness Opportunities: Stay fit and healthy with the opportunity to work out while on duty, promoting physical well-being and peak performance.
- Special Assignments: Explore various special assignments such as SWAT, Detective Bureau, K-9, Field Training Officer, and Bike patrol, fostering career growth and diversification.
- Tuition Reimbursement: If hired within one (1) year of obtaining P.O.S.T. certification, the City of Branson will reimburse tuition costs and other approved expenses incurred during training academy attendance, investing in your professional development and advancement.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy
- Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment
*Candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made
- Two (2) years of experience in a similar or larger sized agency
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment.
- Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
- Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
- Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
