About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Nurse – Western North Carolina**Start Date:** September 14, 2026 **Location:** Western North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Every other weekend required; Day Shift 1:4 patient ratio (stretch staffing 1:5); Night Shift available**Highlights:** - 40-bed progressive care cardiology stepdown unit specializing in cardiac conditions including CHF, MI, arrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterization, and advanced heart failure therapies- Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications required (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin)- Comprehensive patient population including valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, post-pacemaker/ICD/ablation procedures, and pulmonary hypertension- Utilizes Cerner EMR and standard cardiac equipment including Zoll monitors and Baxter pumps- Collaborative team environment with dedicated charge nurses, bedside nurses, PCTs, and unit secretaries on each shift- Opportunity to develop advanced cardiac nursing skills with potential relief charge experience**Requirements:** - Active North Carolina RN license or compact state license- Minimum 1 year stepdown or progressive care experience required- Telemetry monitoring experience required- Demonstrated competency with cardiac IV drip titration and management- BLS and ACLS certification required- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred- Relief charge experience preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to advance your cardiac nursing expertise in a specialty progressive care environment treating complex cardiovascular patients.
