Office of Juvenile Justice – Swanson Center for Youth Address: 4701 South Grand St., Monroe, LA 71202 The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) seeks responsible and vigilant individuals to serve as Security Officer (WAE). These temporary/as‑needed roles support the safety and security of juvenile justice facilities by helping maintain order, prevent incidents, and promote a safe environment for youth, staff, and visitors. This position is ideal for candidates who are flexible, dependable, and passionate about public service and youth rehabilitation. Minimum Qualifications A valid Louisiana Driver's License No convictions or pleas of nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c) Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma Job Duties Assist with clerical duties Assist with transports Monitor entrances, exits, and facility grounds to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access Conduct routine patrols and report any safety concerns or suspicious activity Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations or incident response Enforce facility rules and support staff in maintaining order Complete logs, incident reports, and other documentation as required Provide courteous assistance to visitors, staff, and youth while maintaining professional boundaries Position Details Work Location: Swanson Center for Youth, Monroe, Louisiana Compensation: $18.00 per hour Appointment Type: part-time/WAE #J-18808-Ljbffr
