Administrative or promotional content has been kept to a minimum while preserving the role details. Responsibilities Operate various sheet-fed offset presses. Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions. Start machines and perform trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setups. Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine whether adjustments are needed. Ensure image registration from unit to unit and run samples to adjust print quality and color settings in accordance with densitometer readings. Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position, and department. Perform routine adjustments during the press run and maintain quality throughout the run. Complete assigned work effectively and on schedule; accurately follow instructions. Maintain records of daily production using specified forms and record production information such as time spent on specific tasks. Preserve and pass along customer artwork in clean and undamaged condition. Keep the work area neat and clean. Open machines and remove/replace damaged product using hand tools. Perform daily/monthly maintenance and troubleshooting. Perform other job duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-3 years of printing experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic computer skills (data entry). Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, ratios, etc. Ability to read a ruler. Ability to perform accurate work and demonstrate effective decision-making skills. Ability to self-manage time effectively. Willingness to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods. Good attendance.
