Job Description
Registered Nurse - PCU

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:45 - 19:15). Weekend requirement includes 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule, with combinations of Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per week. RTO restrictions: No more than 7 days of time off. Pending licenses accepted.

Requirements

• 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Certifications: BLS required.
• Skills required: MS/Tele, Cardiac Telemetry, Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams, and post-operative care (Cardiac Angiogram, MI, Cardiac Cath, Cardiac Surgery).
• IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, accessing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, oxygen therapies, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, administering medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting and reporting changes to the care team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Facilitate patient education on health management and preventive care strategies.
• Maintain a safe and effective patient care environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
