Job Summary

Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join its laboratory team. The laboratory provides 24/7 testing services for inpatient, emergency department, outpatient, and clinic patients, processing blood, body fluid, and tissue specimens to support diagnosis and treatment.

The ideal candidate will have recent phlebotomy experience, hands-on EPIC experience, and excellent patient care skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens safely and accurately.
• Collect, label, process, and transport blood and other biological specimens according to established protocols.
• Ensure proper specimen identification, handling, and processing.
• Accurately document patient and specimen information in EPIC.
• Support laboratory services across inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and clinic settings.
• Follow applicable CLIA, CAP, and facility quality and safety standards.
• Maintain infection-control procedures and a clean, safe work environment.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
• Provide professional and compassionate service to patients during specimen collection.

Qualifications & Requirements

• EPIC Experience Required: Only candidates with prior EPIC experience will be considered.
• BLS Certification: Current Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required.
• Education/Experience: Completion of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program or at least 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience.
• Certification: Phlebotomist certification preferred.
• Ability to work various shifts, including occasional weekends.
• Strong communication, patient-care, and specimen-collection skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
