Senior Underwriter

A growing commercial insurance organization is seeking a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join its underwriting team supporting business across the western United States. This position is well suited for an underwriter who enjoys evaluating and pricing business, working closely with agency partners, and having a meaningful voice in underwriting decisions. What You'll Be Doing Underwrite and manage a portfolio of new and renewal commercial accounts Analyze risk characteristics, coverage structures, loss history, and pricing considerations Make thoughtful underwriting decisions while maintaining a strong focus on profitability Build and strengthen relationships with agency partners throughout the territory Collaborate with underwriting, service, and leadership teams to support business objectives Provide guidance and technical expertise to colleagues when needed Stay informed on market trends, competitive conditions, and emerging risks What We’re Looking For 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience Experience with multiple lines of business, including a combination of Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation Strong analytical and decision-making skills Ability to evaluate risk and develop appropriate pricing strategies Comfortable working directly with agents and brokers Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Professional designations such as CPCU, AU, ARM, or similar are a plus Why Consider This Opportunity Established underwriting team with a collaborative culture Opportunity to take on additional responsibility without moving into formal management Exposure to a diverse mix of commercial business Competitive compensation package, including annual incentive opportunities Long-term growth potential within a stable and expanding organization #J-18808-Ljbffr Selby Jennings
