Organ Donation Coordinator [ICU RN or Respiratory Therapist] - 36 hours a week/ NIGHTS - Boston, MA

Company Description New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation across New England, serving 15 million people and operating with 398 clinical and non‑clinical staff. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to serve as a Donation Coordinator. The role requires responding on‑site to organ donor referrals, providing clinical expertise in donor evaluation, management, organ allocation, and recovery. You will also educate hospital staff, obtain donor consent, and collaborate with surgical and critical care teams. Schedule Orientation: company‑wide weeklong onsite session in Waltham, MA, followed by specialized organ donation training. First 3 weeks: 3 days per week in Waltham (generally Tuesday‑Thursday, day shift). After classroom training: mix of 16‑hour day and 12‑hour night on‑call shifts; 14 shifts per 4‑week schedule plus trainings and meetings. Independent schedule: 12‑hour night shifts (8:00 pm‑8:00 am) – 3 shifts per week on a 4‑week cycle (up to 40 hrs per week) plus trainings and meetings. Significant travel is required throughout New England; mileage and other reimbursements are available. Qualifications Critical care or trauma experience with clinical credentials. Valid driver’s license and insurance; reliable personal vehicle; minimum 21 years old; acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. Critical thinking and keen clinical assessment skills. Compassionate, conflict‑resolution skills, and ability to sit, stand or bend for extended periods. Strong work ethic, forward‑thinking, and ability to remain calm in high‑pressure situations. Proficiency with travel to Waltham Headquarters and hospitals New England‑wide. Education and Experience 3–5 years clinical experience in critical care. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
