This position supports patients across the continuum of care, with a focus on blood and marrow transplant (BMT) and hematologic malignancies.Position OverviewThe Oncology Pharmacy Specialist serves as an integral member of the BMT/Hematology team, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care across both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role promotes continuity of care, supporting complex oncology patients through transplant, cellular therapy, and longitudinal hematology management.Key ResponsibilitiesInpatient / Acute Care ContributionsParticipate in multidisciplinary rounding on BMT and hematology inpatient servicesOptimize medication therapy for transplant conditioning, immunosuppression, supportive care, and complications (e.g., GVHD, infections)Provide real-time clinical decision support to providers and care teamsSupport safe medication use and contribute to protocol development and implementationAmbulatory / Clinic-Based ContributionsSupport BMT/hematology clinics through direct patient care, therapy management, and longitudinal follow-upManage in-basket messages, treatment plans, and therapy coordinationProvide patient education and counseling for complex oncology regimensFacilitate transitions of care between care settingsShared ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teamsLead and participate in quality improvement, research, and program development initiativesPrecept pharmacy students, PGY1, and PGY2 residentsContribute to the academic mission through teaching and scholarshipQualificationsPriority consideration for candidates who meet one of the following: Completion of an Oncology PGY2 or fellowship OR PGY1 plus 3 years of oncology clinical specialist experience OR 5 years of oncology clinical specialist experienceBCOP certification is expected within 18 months of hire.Why Nebraska Medicine?Strong alliance with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)Integrated academic partnership with UNMCNational leader in BMT, cellular therapy, and hematologic malignanciesFully integrated care model spanning inpatient, ambulatory, and infusion servicesStrong culture of collaboration, innovation, and academic excellenceTuition assistance and robust professional development supportThis position is eligible for a signing bonus in addition to a competitive, market-based salary commensurate with training and experience.Shift Details First shift position (Monday through Friday) with intermittent weekend accountabilityIf you have questions about applying for this Oncology Pharmacy Specialist role you can contact our TA Partner Breanna Hutchinson at View email address on job-api.jobget.com. Be part of something extraordinary with Nebraska Medicine!Required Qualifications:Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required. Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program, as deemed appropriate for patient facing roles and relevant to practice.Preferred Qualifications:American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
