Executive Director, WLS Data & AI Strategy Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) is a global utility that delivers best‑in‑class lending services across the firm’s lines of business. With data becoming central to how WLS operates, manages risk, and delivers client value, the WLS Chief Data Office (CDO) plays a key role in enabling a modern, scalable, and highly governed data ecosystem. This position, the Deputy Chief Data Officer for WLS, will lead the WLS Data & AI Strategy and drive the firm’s data and artificial intelligence agenda. Role Overview As the Senior Executive within Wholesale Lending, you will define and execute an integrated Data & AI Strategy that aligns with firm‑wide priorities and business objectives. You will advise senior leadership, foster data stewardship, and embed an AI‑first mindset throughout WLS processes. You will also program‑manage a high‑performing team and oversee the execution of strategic initiatives to achieve measurable business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the WLS Data & AI Strategy aligned to firm‑wide priorities. Drive adoption of data and AI capabilities across WLS, partnering with senior stakeholders. Establish a forward‑looking roadmap to leverage emerging technologies, including AI/ML, automation, and advanced analytics. Serve as WLS Deputy Chief Data Officer, supporting strategy, governance, and transformation priorities. Lead and develop a small team of data professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead high‑priority, cross‑functional initiatives to implement and scale the WLS Data & AI Strategy. Establish and enhance data governance policies, standards, and controls to ensure data integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance. Promote data stewardship, ownership, and accountability across WLS. Champion an AI‑first mindset, embedding AI/ML and automation into core WLS processes and data lifecycle management. Partner with technology and data science teams to develop and scale AI‑driven solutions that enhance productivity, risk management, and client outcomes. Develop and deliver executive‑level narratives, materials, and recommendations to senior leadership, communicating complex data and AI concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Extensive experience in financial services with deep expertise in data strategy, AI/analytics, data governance, or Chief Data Office functions. Proven ability to define and drive enterprise‑scale data and AI strategies across large, complex organizations. Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and transformation programs. Strong understanding of data management frameworks, governance, and regulatory requirements. Experience embedding AI/ML or advanced analytics capabilities into business processes. Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate strategy into execution. Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in fast‑paced environments. Preferred Qualifications MBA or advanced degree. Experience in Wholesale Lending, Commercial Banking, or Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud architectures, and data ecosystems. Experience in Chief Data Office or enterprise data transformation functions.
