Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Customer Service Specialist based in Memphis, TN. The Customer Service Specialist is the primary point of contact for existing clients and is responsible for delivering prompt, accurate, and courteous service on every request. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing policy changes such as vehicle, driver, address, and coverage updates; issuing ID cards, certificates, and proof of insurance; handling billing and payment inquiries; assisting clients through the claims process; and coordinating mortgagee and lienholder updates with lenders. The role also includes proactive client outreach, including renewal reviews, follow-up on past-due accounts to prevent lapses in coverage, and identifying opportunities to round out accounts with additional lines of coverage. The Customer Service Specialist will maintain accurate records in the agency management system, communicate with carriers to resolve service issues, and collaborate with the sales team to ensure a seamless client experience from onboarding through renewal.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain coverage, billing, and policy changes clearly and professionally.
• Active Property & Casualty insurance license (and/or relevant state insurance licenses) or eligibility to obtain within a defined timeframe.
• Working knowledge of personal lines insurance, including home and auto coverage, endorsements, and the renewal process.
• Proficiency with insurance agency management systems, carrier portals, CRM tools, and standard office software.
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client requests accurately and follow each through to completion.
• Professional, patient, and solution-oriented demeanor in every client interaction.
• High level of integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
• Previous experience in an insurance agency or customer service environment preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, college degree a plus.
