To build out the WM Data Catalog (Business Glossary and Data Dictionary)Capability: WM Data CatalogDeliverables: Incremental build out of the WM Data CatalogFull inventory of WM business & technical metadata, vetted & validated, implemented in CollibraFull Data Lineage of WM CDEs (Critical Data Elements); PII Data Elements, Market Data, and other critical data identified as neededEvaluation of ‘Collibra import scanners’ for WM technologies for automation of metadata import, and for integration with WM DQ Solution (Oracle Enterprise Data Quality Solution)Contractor’s Role:This position will support the strategic Data Governance initiative (Collibra metadata management platform implementation/configuration, migration of metadata from IBM Infosphere Information Governance Catalog to Collibra, integration of several application with Collibra, building out the Data Catalog for Wealth Management, etc.). This individual will also work as a part of the WM Data Governance team and across WM Product Teams as a DBA.The responsibilities may include going across products and working on different phases that include development, testing, presentations, implementation and support. This includes understanding of data interfacing between different systems, data warehouses and data lakes, general understanding in BI solutions and sustaining all implemented systems, processes, and services. The Business Data Analyst/ETL Developer is a key role in the project as data drives the start of all of the activities on the project.This position requires understanding of data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis to serve as a foundation to basic concepts and terms. Exposure to enterprise scale data governance tools and processes is also advantageous. This position will collaborate and partner with constituents across the department and broadly with application teams, report teams, data domain partners and subject matter experts from other governance groups. A successful candidate will have a bias for action, strong attention to detail, focus on risk management and possess a continuous improvement mindset.Experience Level:Level 3- [senior- 8+ years overall experience]Qualifications (Must Have’s):Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related discipline and three years of data warehousing, data modeling, etc. experienceKnowledge of various database platforms: Data Stage, Oracle, DB2, JSON, MarkLogicExperience with and working knowledge of the following are required: Structured Query Language (SQL)High level of competency with Windows operating systems and familiarity with Linux and Unix.Tasks & Responsibilities:Deliver metadata and/ or data lineage and flow services to fulfill enterprise data management policy and procedureComplete the collection of metadata and/or data lineage in alignment with enterprise templates and standardsDocument technical specifications and processes to a high level of accuracyExtrapolate from enterprise data management tools to use available metadata to further enrich business and technical metadataValidate metadata and data lineage quality through automated tools and standard controls to ensure data integrity and consistencyDevelop a deep understanding of the business and the ability to analyze, document and organize large amounts of data.Conduct independent analysis of internal databases, source systems, and flat files to identify significant data, data entry errors, and data relationships.Document on-going information architecture; mapping changes and updates.Build traceability matrixes or features and functionality.Query data components using SQL and/or other means to retrieve desired data and create reports.Consult with business users to gather information about data needs, objectives, functions and input to develop functional requirements and provide support during business planning of new process solutions.Develop exports from source systems by creating tables, queries and macros consistent with import specifications.Set up automated data transfers to support data testing and ongoing data submissions.Create import specifications based upon standard templates.Carry out duties with a high degree of data security in the handling of data, including complying with policies and procedures for data encryption and data transfer.Identify data errors.
