Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Registered Nurse Oncology

12-hour shifts (Day/Night) Rotating

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years overall RN experience
• Medical-Surgical (MS) oncology experience required
• At least 1 inpatient hematology/oncology experience documented
• Current acute care experience, worked consistently in last 12 months
• Required certifications: ONS Chemo Certification, BLS, ACLS
• Must have experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and other hematological conditions.
• Administer blood products and manage IV therapy, including starting IVs and peripheral line care.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias; respond appropriately using Rapid Response Teams.
• Care for central lines, PICC lines, and ports, including performing blood draws.
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab results and manage sepsis as needed.
• Assist with feeding tube management and address patient needs collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation consists of a first week of training, followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor.
• Pre-approved time off limited to 1 day.
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only).
