Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

This position requires a Night Shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.

This is a 13-week contract position.

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care skills, particularly with advanced cardiac devices used in heart surgery and management. This role involves caring for cardiac and medical intensive care patients, including those with devices such as LVAD, Impella, and IABP.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac diagnoses and complex medical needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform detailed assessments, including hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Assist with post-cardiac surgery care, including pre/post-cardiac catheter interventions and sheath removal.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and respiratory therapy.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU or CVICU) is required.
• Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Experience with patient ratios of 2:1 is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Epic charting system is preferred.
