Job Title: Facilities Technician 3 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive maintenance support for assigned buildings, with a particular focus on HVAC systems. The position is designed to convert to a full-time equivalent role with competitive pay. The interview process will include virtual and onsite competency-based interviews.

• Monitor the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
• Troubleshoot power, HVAC system controls, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct general and preventative maintenance on carpentry and plumbing systems.
• Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
• Maintain electrical systems, including low and medium voltage power distribution and lighting.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, automatic doors, gates, and fire safety systems.
• Conduct daily building system start-up procedures, including fire pumps, water heaters, boilers, elevators, and compressors.

• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years of experience in facility maintenance, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Two years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs.
• 4+ years of related work experience in a commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and interpret work from drawings, written work orders, sketches, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Advanced troubleshooting abilities in building automation and other complex systems.
• Ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
• Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility.

Located in south Columbus near Rickenbacker Airport, this role operates on the 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11 pm in a commercial building setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
