Service Desk Consultant

One of our clients in the government domain is seeking an IT Service Desk Consultant (On‑Site). Shift Second shift 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, straight 8. Work ends Saturday night at 11:00 PM. Overtime may be required occasionally. Responsibilities Provide call center, maintenance, and documentation support to information system users and/or IT specialists. Enter metadata into repositories, perform loading validation, and execute unit or system test scripts. Maintain application software and develop, organize, file, and maintain platform‑specific documentation. Knowledge Computers and electronics fundamentals. Oral and written communication tools and techniques. Customer support and personal service. Telecommunications (e.g., microwave, wireless, fiber‑optic). IT security principles and methodology. Site safety practices (e.g., HVAC, door alarms). Operating system installation and configuration procedures. Network standards, protocols, and procedures. Platform usage capabilities of network equipment including routers, switches, bridges, and related hardware. Backup and recovery techniques. Technical writing and documentation practices. Skills Service orientation. Installation. Troubleshooting. Critical thinking. Systems evaluation and operational/systems monitoring. Abilities Transport items up to 50 lbs. Operate help desk software (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce, Remedy, Cisco Finesse, Jabber, IRIS, PowerShell, Genesis, UEM, Grafana, Microsoft Office 365 applications). Carry out instructions in written, oral, or pictorial form. Understand manuals and verbal instructions that are technical in nature. Stay abreast of current technologies in assigned IT areas. Deal with problems involving several variables in a familiar environment. Qualifications 5+ years of experience with help desk software (ServiceNow, Remedy, IRIS, PowerShell, Genesis, UEM, Grafana). 5+ years of high‑level documentation and attention to detail in ticketing solutions. 3+ years of service orientation; installation; troubleshooting; critical thinking; systems evaluation and monitoring.
