Where You Will Work Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open‑pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, a crushed‑ore leach pad and stacking system, a low‑grade run‑of‑mine leaching system, four SX plants, and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. Morenci is a unique company town with amenities such as housing allowance, daycare, community center, health‑care facilities, fitness centers, movie theater and skate park. What You Will Do Under general supervision, you supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. In this role, you assign, supervise, and review the work of staff; implement production plans according to approved schedules; participate in daily operational duties; inspect and evaluate work in progress; identify problems and direct remedial action; conduct performance evaluations; prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment; maintain inventories and approve purchases; manage time, materials, and equipment use reports; train staff in safety procedures; maintain safety data sheets; and perform other duties as required. What You Bring To Freeport High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining‑related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience Preferred Qualifications Stacking equipment knowledge Agglomeration drums Belt experience Track and car body knowledge Pulley‑Motor/Gearbox knowledge What We Offer You Estimated annual pay range: $93,000 - $127,500 (base salary only). Additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations may be available.
