Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse specializes in diagnosing and managing patient responses to cardiac conditions within the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU). This role involves critical patient care for a diverse range of cardiology procedures and postoperative patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' cardiovascular status using clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.
• Administer medications and treatments, including Vents, Balloon Pumps, CRRT, and other critical interventions.
• Respond to patient emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR and ensure adherence to facility protocols.
• Float to similar units such as Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma as needed.
• Uphold facility policies, including attendance and certification requirements, to maintain compliance.
  Qualifications:
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience, with at least 1 year in a CVICU or similar unit.
• Hold a valid Michigan State Nursing License (LARA and Nursys verification required).
• Demonstrate proficiency in EKG interpretation and managing Ventilators and Balloon Pumps.
• Be willing to float between units, including Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma.
• Complete a skills checklist within one year of employment.
• Prefer candidates with experience in CRRT and electrophysiology procedures.
