Pet Care Assistant

Job Scope and Responsibilities Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, quickly and accurately switching attention among tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy. Communicate by reading, writing, and speaking fluent English with appropriate grammar, style, and vocabulary, and spell commonly used English words correctly. Organize assignments systematically, cutting through confusion and turning chaos into order. Identify, analyze, and solve problems decisively, translating problems into practical solutions. Provide client service with attentive, courteous, and informative support, gaining personal satisfaction from delivering great service. Follow instructions delivered in oral, written, or diagram formats accurately. Perform basic mathematical calculations and unit conversions. Use computer and specialized software comfortably and confidently (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.). Show initiative by using discretion to identify and propose solutions, taking on additional responsibilities when needed. Act with integrity, adhering to values and ethics, exhibiting honesty, discretion, and sound judgment. Collaborate, compromise, and share information with others as required. Be flexible, open to changing situations and opportunities, and willing to perform all assigned tasks. Work independently without supervision. Maintain a positive, can‑do outlook and composure in stressful situations. Perform duties at a computer for extended periods and around pets. Qualifications Ability to multi‑task under distracting conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication in fluent English. Systematic organizational approach. Strong problem‑solving abilities. Client‑service orientation. Ability to follow instructions accurately. Basic mathematical and unit conversion skills. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office). Stress resilience and positive attitude. Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate up to 50 lbs. Good hand‑eye coordination, dexterity, and vision. Special Working Conditions Work at a computer for long periods of time. Confidence around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.). Work may require more than 30 hours per week, including weekends and evenings. Moderately high noise level. Assumes ambulatory skills to perform duties in a hospital setting. Exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances. Experience, Education, and Training High school diploma preferred. Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x‑ray) and exposure to radioactive substances. One year related experience required; customer service experience preferred.
