ASC OPERATING ROOM NURSE

Operating Room NurseThe Operating Room Nurse will provide quality care to surgical patients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and medication administration in the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Flowood. The Operating Room Nurse will collaborate with coworkers to achieve departmental goals and objectives in accordance with established policies.Responsibilities:Checks all equipment for proper functioning such as cautery machine, suction machine, OR light and OR tableHelp scrub nurse with setting up the theaterAssist AnesthesiaPreparing surgical instruments/tools and materials for the surgical team needed during the operationAssist surgeons during surgery if neededKnowledge of asepsis, infection control, anesthesiaExcellent communication skillsQualifications:Active Registered Nursing License – licensed to work in MSMust possess general clinical competency in acute patient careMust demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encountersNursing experience in a surgical setting preferredDocumentation of current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred)Behaviors:Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done wellDedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrityEducation:Associates or better in Nursing or related field.Bachelors or better in Nursing.Licenses & Certifications:RN Bachelor's DegreeRN Associate DegreeEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
