Patient Access Representative - Stuart Clinic

ACHS is seeking a Patient Access Representative to serve our Stuart clinic. This is a full-time position (36 hours per week) with a consistent schedule.

Schedule

Tuesday-Friday:
  • 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or the end of the last appointment
Every 3rd weekend:
  • Greenfield, 7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Occasional coverage:
  • Greenfield clinic as needed

Essential functions:

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of the Business Office equipment, including copy machine, calculators, printers, fax machines, postage meter and phone system. Basic financial acuity including daily cash drawer balancing.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with patients and co-workers.

• The incumbent must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows environment and Microsoft Office products, as well as ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. Demonstrate ability to use Internet.

• Maintains confidentiality of all patient and financial information.

• Promptly responds to all customer requests in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

• Actively serves on hospital committees and task forces as assigned.

Marginal functions:
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with customers from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds both in person and on the phone. Ability to read and write legibly and understand/follow written and verbal directions. Support Hospital's vision and mission; maintain confidentiality of all work information; demonstrate an ability to function successfully in a team environment; exhibit courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers; display a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations; participate in identifying problems and ability to independently problem solve within a standard set of criteria; ability to remain calm, cheerful and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Previous customer service experience, required.


• Financial/Insurance experience or education, preferred.
