Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (8:30 AM - 9:00 PM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Spine and vascular experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The role promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a governance framework. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of a recognized model of care, the RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN prioritizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and the patient/family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents the response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Ensures education is appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor or preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the governance model.
