Personal Financial Counselor; Moffett Federal Airfield, CA

Position Overview Title: Personal Financial Counselor, Moffett Federal Airfield, CA; Grade24. Responsibilities Provide personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Conduct one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals, and offer education on financial services. Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets the installation’s needs and remains within scope. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families. Coordinate, publicize, and lead Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival, pre‑deployment, post‑deployment, career events, etc.). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling and secure electronic communication (web, chat, video) as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office; provide virtual PFC support only when authorized. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing trends and issues on the assigned installation. Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; may consider an associate degree plus four years of experience, or a high school diploma plus six years of experience. At least three years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract. Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation. Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $58,440–$93,500 per year. Position may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
