We care for you. Position Overview Part‑time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. Predictable schedule, flexible hours, and collaboration with a locally led care team supported by national resources. The Animal Medical Center of New England in Nashua, New Hampshire is a hybrid GP and Emergency/ICU practice. We are looking for someone who is comfortable treating exotics as part of a diverse caseload. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups. Client communication and education. Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery. Maintain accurate medical records. Pharmacy duties, including prescribing medication and following controlled substance protocols. Promote teamwork and staff efficiency. Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations. Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital running from intake to discharge. Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure highest standards. Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university. Current State Veterinary License. DEA registration must be obtained and maintained. 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent surgical and dental skills. Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care. Excellent communication skills with all members of the medical and hospital staff. Client communication skills, must elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations with pet owners. Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed or ill pets. May include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Some tasks involve moderately physically demanding work. Position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge for comprehensive examinations, diagnostics, and prescribing. Problem‑solving to manage high‑quality practice challenges. Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff. Professionalism and openness to constructive feedback. Business acumen for understanding practice management and finances. Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions.
