We are currently looking for multiple ER Physician Assistants for multiple facilities. Facilities with ER PA openings are: Rosebud Hospital (RBH), Rosebud, SD Pine Ridge Hospital (PRH), Pine Ridge, SD Cheyenne River Service Unit, Eagle Butte, SD Fort Yates Hospital (FYH), Fort Yates, ND Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility, Belcourt, ND

ER Physician Assistant - Responsibilities - All Locations (Listed Are Included But Not Limited To)

• The Physician Assistant interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests and/or performs diagnostic tests and examines deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. The Physician Assistant will provide definitive management and full spectrum family ambulatory practice in all medical categories for cases.
• Review the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan, and patient observations. Will modify the regiment as indicated. Shall instruct and counsel patients and family members as required and do so in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Refer patients to appropriate contracted medical facilities providing full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures.
• Divide pediatric care from newborn to adulthood and is familiar with growth, development, disease states, and unique status of pediatric patients.
• Can expect to anticipate evaluating and treating approximately 12 to 20 patients during an eight-hour workday.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures normally performed by family practice nurse practitioners such as, but not limited to performing minor surgery including but not limited to laceration repair and excision of skin lesions.
• The Physician Assistant performs orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, joint aspirations, aspiration of cysts, trigger point injections and other procedures normally performed by an outpatient physician assistant.

Emergency PA - Requirements

• Experience: Must have a minimum of six months' experience.
• Education: Completion of a minimum of a master's degree in physician assistant studies.
• Licensure: Must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary-action license as a nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Certification: Must have a current certification in Basic Life Support and be certified by the NCCPA.
