About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Flex between 15:00 - 03:30, 17:00 - 05:30, and 19:00 - 07:30 Experience: - Minimum 24 months of Emergency Room / Emergency Department experience required. - Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months. License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) - NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can be obtained during onboarding). Must-Have: - EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience required. - Active certifications for BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. - Active TNCC certificate required. - De-escalation certifications such as CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA accepted but preferred. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. The nurse will work nights on a flexible schedule. The unit has a total bed size of 34. Patient care ratios are 4:1. The population served is a mixture of patients requiring drips and titrations. The nurse will be required to float if necessary. Candidates should be prepared to work during 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Candidates must have the required emergency experience and certifications. The role requires strong clinical skills in emergency care. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license. Professional references are preferred from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nursing manager/director within 24 months. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic emergency care team.
