Senior Accountant (Charlotte)

A leading real estate development and investment organization is adding a Senior Accountant to its growing corporate accounting team in Charlotte, NC.

With a large portfolio of commercial and residential development projects across the Southeast, this is an opportunity to join a sophisticated organization where accounting plays a key role in the growth of the business.

We're open to candidates coming from public accounting or directly from the real estate/construction industry .

What You'll Do

• Manage month-end and quarter-end close activities for multiple entities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements
• Analyze financial results, variances and balance sheet activity
• Support accounting for real estate development projects, investments and joint ventures
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
• Support annual audits and tax-related requests
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Assist with special projects related to new developments, acquisitions and business growth

What We're Looking For

• 3–6+ years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience or strong real estate/construction industry experience
• Experience in real estate, construction, investment or another project-based environment is a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Ability to manage multiple entities and competing priorities
• CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus
