Position: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist. This role is essential to ensuring the highest standards of respiratory care are provided in an acute-care hospital setting. The position requires a flexible schedule, including rotating weekends, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Unit Profile

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Unit: Respiratory

Number of Beds: 266

Patient Ratios: Variable based on staffing and patient needs.

Equipment: Various ventilators and BiPAPs.

Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

• Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week.
• Rotating weekends as part of the schedule.
• Floating policy applies; may rotate throughout all inpatient units.

Patient Experience Requirements

Utilization of AIDET principles in all patient interactions is essential to ensure a positive patient experience.

Requested Skill Set

• Experience in Critical Care and Emergency Care.
• Must possess ICU, ER, and critical adult care experience.
• Weekend rotations required.
• Experience with Level 2 NICU and pediatric care is advantageous.

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Advanced Skills Needed

• Aerosol treatments
• BiPAP management
• Ventilator management

Dress Code

Scrubs are required as the standard uniform for this position.

Unit Guidelines and Policies

Candidates should be prepared to adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines.

The Respiratory Therapy team is comprised of 30 well-rounded colleagues with diverse experience levels. Therapists are encouraged to work at the top of their licenses, with competencies that include intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assistance. The department actively participates in interdisciplinary rounding and collaborates with various healthcare professionals to enhance patient care quality.

Technological Advancements

The department utilizes cutting-edge equipment including Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Philips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers to deliver effective respiratory care.
